CollabTalk was launched as a community initiative in January 2012 as a way to bring together experts and influencers to discuss various collaboration topics and differing perspectives, sharing the results through content, videos, and the CollabTalk TweetJam. These monthly tweetjams continue to reach hundreds of thousands of user profiles, and average 3 to 6 million social impressions during each event.
In January 2017, CollabTalk LLC was expanded into an independent research and technical marketing services company, building off of the success and reputation of the community brand, providing marketing guidance to regional, national, and global technology brands.
CollabTalk is lead by Founder & CEO Christian Buckley (@buckleyplanet), an award-winning and globally-recognized author, technology evangelist, and 7-time Microsoft MVP. Prior to CollabTalk, Christian served as Chief Marketing Officer of a SharePoint ISV, and in the role of Chief Evangelist he was instrumental in the acquisitions of two other leading ISVs. He is the co-author of three books on SharePoint, and three on software configuration management and has a long entrepreneurial history, including forming his first software company while earning his MBA in Technology Management, and sold the company to Rational Software in 2001.
What We Do
CollabTalk provides fractional CMO services, product and marketing evaluation and strategy, content development and demand-generation guidance — working primarily within the Microsoft ecosystem. The company is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, with customers located around the world. CollabTalk is a registered Microsoft Partner, and a member of the International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners (IAMCP).
CollabTalk customers include some of the most recognized independent software vendors (ISVs) and solution integrators (SIs) inside and outside of the Microsoft ecosystem, and range in size from small startup needing fractional CMO services, so large multi-national company wanting help in developing and executing thought-leadership content and strategic marketing campaigns.
